This route follows the Mediterranean coast from Cadiz in Spain to Athens in Greece, via France, Italy and Croatia.

EuroVelo 8, a cycle route through 11 Mediterranean countries, offers a sunny adventure for visiting cyclists. This well-developed cycle route guides you along the coasts of the Mediterranean, revealing a diversity of landscapes, cultures and traditions. From emerald blue seas to golden sandy beaches, from the delights of Mediterranean cuisine to towns steeped in history, every stage of this journey is an invitation to marvel.

EuroVelo 8 begins its journey in Cadiz, Spain, where sun-drenched beaches and tasty cuisine plunge travelers straight into the scenery. EuroVelo 8 then heads to France, where the Méditerranée à Vélo® skirts the Côte d’Azur and the Languedoc vineyards reveal the diversity of Mediterranean landscapes and flavors. Each kilometer covered offers a new perspective on this emblematic region, linking culinary traditions with picturesque panoramas. Italy, the jewel of the Mediterranean, welcomes cyclists along its golden coasts and cities steeped in history. From the Roman remains of Rome to the splendor of Venice, each stage of EuroVelo 8 reveals the indelible imprint of civilization on these lands bathed in light.

Slovenia, between the Alps and the Mediterranean, offers travellers an unspoilt natural setting. From Ljubljana to the caves of Škocjan, via picturesque coastal villages, each section of EuroVelo 8 bears witness to the cultural and natural wealth of this small country. In Croatia, the pearl of the Adriatic, cyclists are invited to explore medieval towns, heavenly islands and unspoilt nature parks along the coast. Montenegro, a land of contrasts, seduces travelers with its majestic mountains and spectacular fjords. From the Bay of Kotor to the capital Podgorica, the route offers immersion in the wild beauty of this unspoilt country, weaving together breathtaking landscapes and local traditions.
