Charming, picturesque villages along the fjords offer a glimpse into the spirit of Norwegian culture, as well as pleasant places to rest.
You start your cycling adventure in the Sunnmøre Alps from the charming coastal town of Ålesund, renowned for its unique Art Nouveau architecture. Pedal along cobbled streets lined with picturesque buildings before venturing onto coastal roads offering spectacular views of the fjords. Let yourself be carried away by the maritime atmosphere and cool breezes as you begin your journey through this enchanting Norwegian landscape.
Your cycling route then heads inland, through winding roads and verdant valleys. You’ll stop in Valldal, a small town renowned for its apple orchards in bloom. Enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Quiet roads lead you through landscapes offering total immersion in Norwegian nature.
Continue your journey to the iconic Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pedal along its impressive switchbacks, offering views of majestic waterfalls, snow-capped peaks and the famous Geiranger Fjord. Take time to explore this natural gem, whether admiring the views from the surrounding mountain tops or relaxing by the fjord.
Your bike tour ends with a winding descent to picturesque Sæbø, located at the end of a secluded fjord. Sæbø charms travelers with its peaceful, pleasant atmosphere. The final day takes you to the now-familiar roads of Ålesund.
This Norwegian touring loop offers a variety of cycling challenges, breathtaking panoramas and an immersive experience in the heart of the Sunnmøre Alps, making it an unforgettable journey for cycling and nature lovers.
